Campus Visits
Because he was highly invested in the university's development, Johnson visited campus many times throughout his more than thirty-year political career. He participated in numerous official events and unofficial visits, ranging from university commencements to dedications. Johnson thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the university's students and always strove to maintain close ties with his Alma Mater, despite his other political and national responsibilities.
The following pages outline the many occasions on campus in which Johnson participated while serving as Congressman, Senator, Vice President, and President.
