San Marcos
I took these photos of downtown San Marcos in 2016 and 2019 for the Local and Community History class I taught at Texas State University. The purpose was to teach students to observe the wide variety of historical elements around them—the bits and pieces of everyday life in a historical context. This is really the genesis of the broader regional study now known as Texas History Along the Way.
