Pennington Funeral Home Ledgers

Acquisition of the Pennington Funeral Home records is a joint effort between the Pennington family and the University Archives to preserve the original materials and provide public access to the information contained within.

Materials in this collection consist of business records, including one cemetery ledger (1888-1900) and multiple funeral registers dating from 1902 to the mid-1940s that detail deaths in the Hays County and San Marcos, Texas area.  Also included are a book titled Record and Bill of Items (1937-1944) and a Bureau of Vital Statistics Standard Certificate of Death (July – October 1924). Arranged chronologically by type of record.

Open to researchers without restriction.  Because of the fragile nature of these ledgers, researchers should use digital surrogates in the Digital Collections.
