Settlement in the vicinity of Liberty Hill dates to the 1840s. Located on SH 29 west of Georgetown, the town has grown in recent years due to suburban development, a burgeoning school district, and new commercial growth along the highway. There is a distinct old town area that is still utilized for businesses.
