Strahan’s Legacy
Strahan being inducted into SWT's Hall of Honor.
During his time at the college, Strahan transformed SWT into a regional athletic powerhouse. Strahan did all this without forgetting that his job was to mold young individuals into upstanding adults for life beyond sports. In an oral history interview conducted after he retired from the college, Oscar stated that his number one goal as an athletic coach was to educate student-athletes to be “successful in all walks of life”. He brought long-lasting stability to the college's athletic programs that were only in their infancy when he came to San Marcos.
